Actually, the Riley part does make sense. If Homicide is the “elite” unit for BPD it makes more sense that if a well respected Detective from another unit wanted to transfer to it that they would move her over promoting someone from patrol. I’m actually kind of glad Frankie didn’t get promoted because he really needs to build a reputation for himself outside of his sister’s shadow. It would be cool if Frankie made Detective in another unit - hey! There’s an opening over in drugs! lol Then there could be some crossover cases that he could work with homicide and we’d still see him every episode in the family situations. Give it another season and then perhaps Frankie makes homicide.
But the Frost thing is really getting on my nerves, his squeamishness is very inconsistent.
