Being as oil companies are not nationalized in the U.S. (i.e. owned by the state as they are in those *gasp* socialist and communist countries we’re so terrified of becoming), the President has virtually no control over the price of gas, which is set by the interplay of supply and demand in a capitalist market. I’d rather pay more for gas than vote for a hate-mongering bigot that makes me ashamed to be an American.
